Strengthen communities, organisations and groups to build cultural capacity & cultural sustainability

About Us

We have a successful track record of projects, and can help you design meaningful, transformative cultural change for your organisation or community to better meet your goals and aspirations.

Building Cultural Capacity

At Taurikura NZ, we believe that building cultural capacity is essential for creating diverse, inclusive, thriving organisations and communities.

We work with organisations, from a framework and cultural values of Te Ao Māori, in practical ways to support their visions, aspirations and goals.

Aligning our Values

We seek to work with groups, organisations and communities to undertake “heart” projects, or projects which have an underlying social good.

We are eager to work with organisations that share similar values and wish to advance the cause of an Aotearoa\New Zealand that promotes social equity and celebrates our cultural heritage.

Strengthening Voices, Shaping Futures

We also work to strengthen the voices of hapori Māori, communities, groups & organisations to enable them to shape their desired futures in sustainable ways.

Tūhonotanga – Connection & Relationships

Taurikura NZ has established a wide range of networks and positive, effective community relationships within a wide range of sectors and industries. For example, we have worked with organisations involved in:
Healthcare
Education and Private Training organisations,

What is Cultural Competence?

Culture . . .Tells us who we are, where we come from, where we belong

Cultural capability  is the ability to interact effectively with people of different cultures.

A culturally capable person has a respectful awareness, curiosity about and understanding of cultural differences.

A culturally capable organization is one which is self-reflective and offers āhurutanga, or spaces where people feel their identity is acknowledged, valued and validated, allowing them to flourish
